Question

I have a university professor who is refusing to grade an exam that was turned in five
minutes late. He refuses to discuss the matter and ignores emails and phone calls.i can
understand taking points off for it being late, but to refuse to grade it seems harsh and
unfair. I have not violated an honor or conduct code. I've heard academia let's
professors be the king of the classroom and anything goes. Does the student have any
rights in this case?

This extremely unprofessional and educationally inappropriate on the part of the professor.
What rights you have depend on the policies of your university. At the least I suggest you
consult with the Department chair or the Dean of the faculty. Hopefully they will not support
such bad assessment practice but don't count on it.
