Question

I am looking for research and information that will support the notion that teachers should accept late work. What rationale can I offer beyond, "The IRS takes late work" (relevance to the real world)?

Bonnie, I am not a researcher so I cannot identify specific research. For me it was summed
up best years ago by Joel Barker - 'it is better that work be done late than not done at all.' I
also think it depends on how we see our role as educators and in this connection I would
recommend the article titled "The Teacher as Warm Demander" from the August/Sept 2008
Educational Leadership. There is lots of good ideas about late work in Rick Wormeli's book
"Fair Isn't Equal."
