Question

Hello, I am currently a 10th grader in high school and I came here to see what you
thought about a teacher of mine. Today he apparently gave us three extra pages of
homework, front and back, for a major grade and they're due tommorow. The reason
being why he gave us more work was because we were literally being quiet and doing
our work. I came here to see what was your thought on this because for all of my
classmates this seems unfair that we get even more work for actually doin our work. I
look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

What is wrong here is giving homework for a grade period. Homework most commonly is
practice and grades should be for performance. It is also wrong to use work/grades
punitively.

Thank you and yes he used the homework he gave us as a major grade which counts as 50 or
60% of our grade

I think your teacher needs to do some reading about best practice with regard to homework and grading.
