Question

My daughter who is in tenth grade received a 75% on one test and a 86%
on another test which averages out to an 80.5% However when the
automated grading system figures her scores her average drops to a 78%
because it is calculated by points. How is it possible to receive
grades on one scale and have report card figured on a different scale?

says:

I doubt that two scales are involved. Was the 75 the second test? If yes, then the algorithm
being used to calculate the grade emphasis more recent scores. If not there is an error
somewhere.
