Question

My grandson is an extremely bright 4th grader in a private school. He has always received straight A's on his report card. This time he got a B in art and doesn't know why. I am the principal at his school. Do I approach the art teacher or let it go?

It may be a good thing that he got a B in 4th grade because being fixated on always getting
A's is not healthy or educationally appropriate. If there are any questions asked of the
teacher I think it should be by a parent. As a principal you should be thinking about
moving your school to standards-based grading and then you would have a profile of your
grandson's performance levels and would know what are his strengths and weaknesses.
