Question

Should retests be substantially more difficult than the original test? Should the retest have very few questions (for example 7 or less) or should it be comparable in length to the original test? Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

says:

The retest should be a quality assessment of the "what" and the "how well" of the learning
that is the same as the original assessment. That does not mean that the assessment has to
be the same type but it should be on the same content and at the same level of difficulty, e.g.,
an oral test could replace a paper and pencil test.
