Question

I teach a Visual Arts class at the High School level- I am aware that much of Grading for
Learning takes out participation for scoring and grading. Is there a policy or procedure used
that is effective for taking effort into account when giving feedback, either formative or
summative?

The procedure that is effective is to separate behaviors from achievement and report
separately on the behaviors you value - what I call expanded-format reporting.
