What is the concept of zero-based grading system and its significance?

I am not sure that I understand what you mean by "zero-based grading." The most
common issue with zeros in grading is that they are used as part of a grading scale that
has a relatively small number of points for A B C and D and a large number of points for F.
This results in students with even one zero having little or no chance that their grade will
be an accurate representation of their achievement.
