Question

"If a student writes a test and gets all the answers wrong, they are assigned a zero on that
test." This is a direct quote from a letter by Edgar Schmidt (Superintendent of Edmonton
Public Schools) to the public. Do you agree with this?

says:

Only if we are using an equal difference scale such as 0-5. If we are using a % scale where 50
is the cut for pass/fail then the lowest score recorded should be 40%. This is to make the
math correct. If we don't do this the 0 is a J not an F.
