Question

Instead of assigning "zero" for missing work, could you please give some ideas for alternate
consequences that have been effective with high school students. Thank you.

I believe that a combination of a behavioral consequence (which can be as soft or as hard
as you think is necessary/appropriate and fits with your school's philosophy with regard to
discipline) and the assessment consequence - do it again honestly is sufficient to get
across the message that academic dishonesty is unacceptable in K-12, in college, and in
the world outside school.
