Question

My child had a 90% in Social Studies. She took an exam at the end of the
semester and got a 73%. Her grade is now a 76%. Can you tell how much
that one test was worth?

About 55% of the overall grade but this should have been part of the grading plan that the
teacher shared with students - and parents- at the beginning of the semester.

I wish it had been... but she decided to offer it 2 weeks before the end of the semester....

That is - or should be - unacceptable, and should be drawn to the attention of the school administration.

We are working on this. There are several grade issues going on in this class (just found
out today she lost my child's most recent quiz and gave her a 0). If you have any
suggestions on how to go about making sure these things get changed, I'm open. FYI - we
attend a public charter school that is not part of the local school district.

Charter school or public school no Principal can justify giving a student a zero when she loses the test. Although I virtually never recommend this, if the Principal won't doing something about this I would consult a lawyer.
