Question

A teacher in my department has asked about recording grades for a research paper due
this nine weeks in the next nine weeks grading period (because she doesn't think she
will have them graded in time). While I can't find specific board policy regarding this, it
doesn't seem like sound practice. What would your response be?

I see no problem with that. The end of a grading period is simply point in time as an
administrative and communication convenience. Learning and assessment are ongoing
processes till the real end as we set it in our time-defined systems.
